1. Pipeline-Driven Execution

In QAOps, tests are never run manually on developer workstations before releases. Tests are triggered automatically by Git events:

• Pull Request Checks: Run unit tests and lint checks.
• Merge to Main Branch: Deploy code to a preview environment and execute automated integration and API contract verification.
• Pre-Release Deployment: Execute end-to-end regression suites and visual comparisons before code lands in staging.

2. Automated Quality and Security Gates

It is not enough to run tests; pipelines must enforce their results. QAOps utilizes quality gates to block code merges or deployments if:

• Test pass rates fall below 100%.
• Code coverage decreases.
• Visual deviations or accessibility failures are discovered.
• Security scanners report vulnerabilities above specified severity levels.

3. Dynamic Test Environments

Testing requires clean, reliable test states. QAOps utilizes container orchestration (like Kubernetes or Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to dynamically spin up isolated test environments on-demand for every pull request, run the suite, and tear them down once completed, minimizing environmental dependencies and flakiness.
